About Me

Education and Training

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in New Hampshire and Maine. I earned a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, where I studied holistic theories of psychotherapy which informs the eclectic approach in my work. In addition, as part of my graduate program, I completed an intensive trauma studies course at the University of Limerick, Ireland, focused on the psychological effects of trauma, unique treatment needs, and resiliency approaches to support post traumatic growth.

I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in business from Muhlenberg College, Allentown, PA.

I have specific training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness.

Background

My background is a little unique for a therapist. In addition to having experience working with a diverse population of adults in a community mental health center, I also have almost 20 years of experience as a human resources professional working in corporate settings. While therapy is a second career and the two may seem rather different, the progression from one to the other felt quite natural. Both have elements of understanding human behavior, leveraging individual strengths for continued growth, identifying motivational factors, and facilitating effective relationships.  Not to mention that our work life is often keenly tied to our identity and sense of purpose and these two things have a significant impact on our mental wellbeing.
